Casio Men’s MTP1165A-1C Silver-Tone Analog Bracelet Watch Review

This watch is extremely well put together and very well priced. Some people put a great deal of time, money, and energy into looking for nice dress watches, but for everyone else there’s this Casio. Some other reviewers have mentioned that the watch is one tone, not brushed steel but mine is, in fact, two tone metal. The outer links are a very bright, reflective steel while the inner portion of each link has a soft brushed pattern, making it less reflective but equally bright.

The important components for those looking for a dress watch are the build quality, looks, and ability to keep the time. This watch does all three – I’ve had no problems whatsoever with the build (the band scratches slightly over time but the watch face shows no signs of wear), the watch looks rather stunning (the four time markers on the watch make it look far more stylish and pricy than it is), and it has no trouble keeping perfect time, though only 4 time markers does make it difficult to read the precise time.

For anyone looking for a great watch – casual or business style – for themselves or as a gift, I highly recommend this one. It offers the style of a higher end dress-watch with one tenth of the price.

Gigabyte LGA1366 SATA3 ATI CrossFireX ATX Motherboard GA-X58A-UD3R Review

I picked up one of these for my latest system build, and I’m pleased to say that it booted up perfectly the first time and has been running rock-solid ever since.

Here is the hardware that I’m using with it:
1) Core I7 920 CPU
2) 12GB Corsair DDR3 1600 memory (9-9-9-24)
3) Seasonic M12II 620w PSU
4) Radeon 5770 1GB (running 2 screens @ 2560×1600 & 1200×1600)
5) Intel X25M-G2 160GB SSD

I am a C programmer and I tend to use my system heavily. A typical work load would be running Windows 7 x64 with 2 copies of Visual Studio + VMware Workstation 7 with up to 4 or 5 VMs running simultaneously, and all the other source control and debug utilities that I am using at any given time. This system breezes through that like butter.

The main issue I typically have is that I keep my PC locked in an enclosed cabinet with only one 92mm intake fan and a 120mm exhaust fan vented into the garage – both are running at low speeds to keep it quiet. Because of that, my hardware needs to run solid at fairly high temps. In this system, the CPU temps have gotten as high as 160F and I haven’t seen any instability at all.

I used to only buy Asus motherboards until a few years ago when their quality started to drop off. Now I only buy these Gigabyte ‘durable’ boards and they have all been true to their name for the kind of stress I run them under. This board hasn’t had any problems at all going in or out of standby (S3) either.

Personally, I don’t overclock anything anymore (I got sick of burned up hardware when I blew up my P90 system 15 years ago); but this motherboard is extremely flexible if you are inclined to do that.

Overall, I highly recommend this board if you are looking for a solid entry in the socket 1366 space.

I have been wearing this model watch from casio in one form or another for over 10 years. I am on my third watch. I started with the model that has the rubber straps and it worked like a champ for the first 5 years. The only issue I had was that I had to replace the strap’s about every 2 years. The watch bezel finally ended up breaking off when I accidentaly hit the watch against a planter. I bought the same watch as a replacement & lost the watch so I bought this to replace it. I decided to go with the watch with the metal bands to have to avoid replacing the rubber ones. All in all these watches are pretty much bulletproof. They are a great value for your money. They are durable & look nice. Not much to say other than you will be pleased with the quality of this line of watches.

Batman: Arkham Asylum Review

I enjoyed this game although at times it was quite frustrating. There is a lot to this game and a lot of platforming which i enjoyed but it was easy to get lost and the map was often hard to follow. You are often in multistory buildings and the map does not do a good job of distinguishing floors.
that said I did enjoy the platforming.
The combat could be balky if there were a lot of opponents at one time, i think the game slowed down and the controls would lag a bit making it difficult in some fight scenes.
I actually rented the PS3 version also so that i could see if it was a console problem but the game really played identically on both consoles.

If you enjoy platforming action games, I would recommend this one.
